Ms. Christina Parsons, age 36, was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida.

Upon graduating from Stanton College Prep High School, 2003, she continued and

completed her undergrad education at Florida A&M University, (FAMU), in 2009,

with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. In 2010, Christina decided to pursue a

career in Funeral Services at Florida State Community College of Jacksonville and

obtained a degree in Mortuary Science. She currently works at North Florida

Educational Institute as a middle school Math teacher and Q L Douglas Funeral

Home as a Licensed Funeral Director.

As a youth, she reluctantly began her dance training after only playing

sports most of her early youth. Being trained locally in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, West

African, and Musical Theatre, the love and passion for the performing arts quickly

grew on her that continued through college and adulthood. In 2002, Christina

appeared on the Big Screen as an extra in The Sunshine State, starring Angela

Bassett. She also shared that exciting moment with her parents and three

brothers on the Big Screen! The most memorable time as a dancer was being a

part of the Off Broadway Musical, “The Wiz”, (1998-Jacksonville, Fl and 2005-

Tallahassee, Fl). While at FAMU, she danced in Orchesis Contemporary Dance

Theatre, 2006-2009, and taught ballet in after school programs offered by The

Tallahassee Ballet Company.

It was with The Tallahassee Ballet Company, where the continuing love for

the performing arts developed into a passion of teaching youth the arts and skills

needed to succeed as a dancer. It’s more than just performing an art on stage.

Over time, dance produces great discipline, structure, boosts self-confidence and

self-esteem in dancers of all ages.

As an adult, Christina continues to share her gift and love of dance as a

member of the Fine Arts Ministry at Bethel Institutional Baptist Church. Being

able to serve her community in the capacities bestowed upon Christina is nothing

short of God’s amazing grace and unconditional love!
